JOB SUMMARY:
The Painter I position will be responsible for sanding, cleaning and prepping surfaces for paint and data entry into the MES system. They will learn all aspects of the MES system for data collection and labor recording.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Work from FESs, drawing notes, MES planning, to prep manufactured parts and aircraft parts and sub-assemblies for the paint process.
Strip manufactured parts and aircraft parts.
Prepare surfaces to be painted by sanding and cleaning as required.
Cover area on parts as required to be protected from Alodine process, paint or stripper with proper materials.
Set up and operate required shop equipment and tooling.
Assist others as required in the performance of their job assignments.
Accurately log computerized labor data collection system for work orders, time and attendance tracking.
Operate and change filters as needed on downdraft tables.
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Assists other personnel on specific job assignments.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Manage usage of shop supplies.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Work from designs or verbal instructions.
· Familiarity with applicable manufacturer standards and company procedure governing the care and treatment of aluminum.
· Use standard equipment: sanding equipment, dual action orbital sander and common hand tools.
· Identify parts per standard.
· Comply with all safety requirements per company policy.
· Stand for long periods of time.
· Lift and carry 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Must not be abnormally allergic to paint, paint stripper, solvents, primers or other paint related products that produce fumes or dust while using.
Respirator use required.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of chemical storage and disposal
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Air Conditioned environment.
Conditions vary with weather in Central Arkansas.
Involves exposure to chemicals and dust levels set by OSHA standards
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position typically falls between $21.00 and $23.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for shift differential or relocation assistance. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
