Job Title: Aircraft Painter
Job DescriptionThe Aircraft Painter Technician is responsible for preparing all components and airframe surfaces for painting and executing the painting process in accordance with manufacturer procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all surfaces for paint by sanding, masking, filling, washing, and removing dents.
- Apply corrosive preventative treatments, primers, and finish coats of special materials.
- Mix and tint paint as required.
- Perform layout of paint schemes as specified by the customer.
- Apply paint materials to all prepared surfaces according to manufacturer instructions.
- Complete aircraft for customer acceptance by brush touch-up, cleaning striping lines, and removing overspray.
- Document daily activities by releasing and updating time sheets.
- Sign off work clearly and legibly using adequate descriptions of the work performed.
- Fill out all necessary blocks on work sheets as required.
- Sign off using correct references such as AMM, Engineering Dispositions, and Repair Design Approval Sheets (RDAS).
- Complete toolbox audit sheets daily at the end of the shift.
- Complete forms and records pertaining to the completion of assigned work.
Essential Skills- Strong paint skills.
- Previous paint work experience.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and Bills of Material (BOM) to ensure proper coatings are applied in accordance with Technical Data.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools to remove and install hardware.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Some trade school education preferred.
- Minimum of four years of painting and paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass components.
- Experience in aircraft painting is preferred, but automotive painting experience will also be considered.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
