PURPOSE: As a Station Operations Crewmember at Avelo Airlines, you will be at the core of our stations daily operations, acting as the "quarterback" to ensure smooth and efficient execution. You’ll serve as the main point of contact in the station for Avelo’s Airport Operations Center (AOS) and Operations Control Center (OCC), managing critical communication and advocating for the airline with Airport Authority partners. This role involves real-time coordination, direct interaction with pilots, and proactive decision-making to support the station’s operational success and uphold our commitment to Customer satisfaction and on-time performance.The Station Operations Crewmember also serves as the SME for process and systems questions, and as the advocate for our customers during irregular operations (IROPS).RESPONSIBILITIESDaily Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the daily operations of the station, ensuring all activities align with Avelo’s standards for safety, efficiency, and Customer service.
- Monitor and coordinate all ground operations activities, including the arrival and departure of aircraft, ramp management, gate management, Customer boarding, baggage handling, deicing, and fueling.
Communication & Coordination:
- Act as the main point of contact for AOS and OCC at the station, maintaining open communication to keep all departments aligned on current and upcoming operational needs.
- Coordinate with Airport Authorities, including Ramp and Terminal Managers, to advocate for Avelo’s interests and resolve any facility or service-related issues swiftly.
- Serve as a liaison with pilots over the operations frequency, handling in-range calls and addressing requests for ground services to ensure a seamless arrival experience.
- Communicates pertinent information from Dispatch/Maintenance Control to the station in a timely manner.
- Advises dispatch of all airport challenges relating to IROPS.
Real-Time Decision-Making:
- Act as the on-site lead for addressing operational challenges, using strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues swiftly.
- Make critical, time-sensitive decisions to handle unexpected situations while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Customer & Crew Support:
- Support Crewmembers and Customers by providing timely and courteous assistance, particularly during irregular operations (IROPS).
- Manage Customer communications related to delays, cancellations, or gate changes with professionalism and empathy.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of operational activities, including daily logs, incident reports, and shift handovers.
- Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and provide input for process enhancements.

Requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in using operational management tools, including Avelo’s systems and software applications.
- Familiarity with FAA, TSA, and other aviation regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in airline operations is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operations demand.
- Physical capacity to work on the ramp and in customer-facing positions, which may include standing, bending, and lifting up to 70 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- Prior experience in airline operations or airport ground handling preferred.
- Prior experience working in an Operations Control Center or Station Operations Center preferred.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of airline Airport Operations experience.
- High School diploma (or equivalent); additional training or certification in airline operations is a plus.
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, etc.)
