Key Accountabilities:
Contribute to NAV CANADA’s overall national capital program with growing experience and knowledge of specialty systems function and field utilization.
Assists in the development of the initiatives (projects) from an implementation perspective, and assist in the formulation of new, innovative forward-thinking strategies and plans to address the gaps between the current and future processes, to advance operational needs and reduce costs.
Responsible for validating software requirements, development of test cases and review of technical documents to ensure successful system integration.
Contribute to system integration efforts by executing test plans, debugging, and enhancing interoperability across IT Application and platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the development of test plans, validating system requirements and the review of Application specification document
Contribute to the identification, analysis, and documentation of potential hazards and safety risks associated with system design, integration, and operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure system safety and reliability.
Participate in project planning, providing clear estimations and timelines for when activities and commitment dates will be met.
Job Requirements
Education:
Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in computer, electrical or systems engineering, or computer science, or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the development, and review of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to support system integration.
Over five years of experience implementing complex software applications in high-availability, 24/7 operational environment.
A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience collaborating with large cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver complex solutions.
Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of current best practices in software application configuration, core engineering principles, and quality assurance methodologies, including requirements analysis and design validation.
Proficient in software requirements validation, test case development, and technical documentation review / version control to ensure alignment with functional and non-functional requirements.
Knowledge of system integration and interoperability standards, including RESTful APIs, message queues, and middleware technologies.
Strong knowledge of technical risk mitigation strategies, with the ability to identify potential hazards and ensure that design and implementation decisions align with security, performance, scalability, and system reliability requirements.
Knowledge and hands-on experience using VISIO, JIRA, Azure DevOps, and similar tools for requirement reviews, task management and documentation.
Abilities:
Ability to analyze specified operational requirements to determine how these can best be met within the limitations of time.
Ability to detect, analyze and correct system deficiencies and/or recommending new actions/process improvements.
Skill in professional discussions with internal customers, stakeholders and management and with external consultants and industry to ensure that important aspects are not overlooked.
Ability to write clear, cohesive, and concise documentation that is easily understandable by colleagues, management, stakeholders and customers.
Ability to design scalable, modular architectures ensuring high reliability and seamless interoperability within the existing infrastructure.
Ability to convey complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders for alignment on project goals
