Job Summary
Standardise and improves process in his/her specialty area (ground handling or cargo) by performing on-site operational business reviews and/or by optimizing resource planning & allocation. Responsible for the planning and rostering process. Working with various departments leaders to optimize resource (labour and ground service equipment) planning & allocation within set cost targets in order to maintain the feasibility of the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as expert for resource planning in operation (staff & equipment) and as application manager for Swissport’s standard tool (“GS Planning”) with responsibility for the tool including technical trainings and roll-out.
- Manage or support operational projects, business plans, introduction and maintenance of new procedures and technologies or provide related consultancy.
- Identification of improvement opportunities (safety, quality, efficiency) applying lean management.
- Maintain Swissport’s Operations Manual ensuring compliance with industry standards (ISAGO, IGOM, ISO)
- Reporting of progress and achievements to station, divisional and group executive management
- Lead employee workshops to facilitate achievements of OBR targets.
- Evaluate current resource assignments and planning of resources (manpower + equipment) as part of OBRs, for tenders or due diligence activities.
- Cargo: Develop and maintain set of standard planning parameters as part of OBRs and interface with planning experts centrally or at station level
- Define the required shifts and resource requirement (labour and ground service equipment) for budgeting, commercial and operational purposes.
- Creating and maintaining staff rosters in line with local regulations, agreements, staff skills and qualifications within the set cost targets.
- Ensuring there are enough resources to provide acceptable and consistent service delivery levels for our customers.
- Ensuring resources are used efficiently as possible, without compromising safety.
- Continuously identifying ways to improve the resource planning process and output by exploring new ways of working and taking into account operational feedback (including feedback from the resource controllers and OCC) and data trends.
- Comply with the responsibilities detailed in the stations QHSE Management System Manual and the manuals under your responsibility and management, ensuring compliance with the requirements in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISAGO standards.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Business or Analytics degree, aviation experience or equivalent
- Experience in staff planning or load control a plus
- Above-average flexibility and readiness for travelling (up to 50)
- Presentation & moderation skills
- General IT know-how
- Fluency in English, another language advantageous
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills combined with drive for self improvement
- Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
