Role Summary
* In this role, you will plan, lay out, and fabricate complex production and experimental metal parts and assemblies using a wide range of fabrication, machining, and welding processes. You will interpret engineering documentation, inspect work to required tolerances, troubleshoot issues within established procedures, and work under limited supervision while supporting team members as a technical resource. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* A High School Diploma or equivalent.
* A minimum of 6 years of prior relevant welding or fabrication experience.
* OR a post-secondary or Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
* Fully proficient in job knowledge, welding, and fabrication skills.
* Experience in planning and laying out work from raw materials.
* Ability to interpret work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, formulas, sketches, verbal instructions, and electronic work orders.
* Experience in inspecting fabricated parts to specified tolerances.
* Ability to identify and resolve issues in straightforward situations while following established procedures.
* Ability to communicate effectively with contacts within and outside the department to obtain or provide technical information. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able
* Plan work, layout, and fabricate intricate experimental and production sheet metal parts and final assemblies.
* Set up and operate fabrication and welding equipment, including shears, brakes, drills, sanders, degreasing baths, spray painting equipment, silk screening tools, manual mills, and lathes.
* Perform MIG, TIG, and spot welding operations.
* Use hand tools and shop equipment required for metal fabrication and assembly.
* Interpret and execute work using standard instructions, job layouts, and engineering documentation.
* Inspect completed operations to ensure compliance with required tolerances and specifications.
* Follow established processes and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
* Communicate technical information and collaborate with team members across departments.
* Serve as a technical resource to other employees in areas of proficiency when required.
* Perform work under limited supervision with minimal peer review.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
