Job Description:


Responsible for directing and leading procurement and supply management activities, as well as coaching and guiding team members in building end-to-end procurement strategies and ensuring compliance to strategic sourcing process to optimize and leverage spend. This position will also be responsible for delivering financial and negotiated savings targets, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Essential Duties

  • Establishes policies and procedures, as well as the necessary controls for the efficient operation of the department.
  • Establishes and maintains adequate procedures for processing all material requirements for maintenance.
  • Assists in the development of procurement strategy, and responsible for the establishment of purchasing/ repair/ logistics/ heavy maintenance materials budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures within the organization.
  • Develops and adapts enterprise procurement strategies based upon continuous monitoring and forecasting of impacting variable market conditions.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and capitalizes on opportunities to reduce sourcing and purchasing costs by establishing contracts that improve the organizations buying patterns.
  • Sets negotiation strategies for the most complex, high value and strategically important third-party relationships to secure terms that are in the organizations best interest.
  • Negotiates new contractual terms and interprets existing contracts, demonstrating an understanding of legal principles.
  • Fosters meaningful business relationships across business units to ensure the effectiveness of procurement strategies, and deploys Subject Matter Experts, as necessary, to cement change.
  • Manages procurement staffing, and across existing sourcing functions.
  • Executes functional responsibilities in a manner that strengthens business partner and supplier relationships.
  • Selects and manage procurement systems.
  • Selects outside repair agencies for rotable and repairable components, coordinating the approval of these agencies with Quality Control.
  • Ensures that inventory levels are maintained within approved investment levels, and that the services pro- vided are the best possible for that level.
  • Manages the initial provisioning and replenishment of rotable parts, equipment and supplies to support operating and planned aircraft acquisitions.
  • Ensures that federal regulations and company policies regarding quality, documentation and traceability are met.
  • Recommends the disposition of stores controlled material that is deemed surplus.
  • Manages the movement, control and accountability of all shipping procedures.
  • Maintain records of all shipments, as required.
  • Selects vendors for freight movement and customs clearance availability. Routes all international shipments and ensures import/export documentation is prepared, and coordinates customs clearances on all import/ export shipments.
  • Ensures compliance with the Dangerous Goods Regulations using IATA guidelines as a reference and assists stores personnel with the preparation of Shippers declarations for dangerous goods shipments.
  • Negotiates rate tariffs with new and existing vendors. Analyzes the cost efficiency and reliability of vendors.
  • Coordinates and tracks shipments until they reach their destination. This includes providing shipment advisories/details to line station and management personnel.
  • Files claims for damaged or lost shipment, as required.
  • Administers all warranty claims.
  • Assists employees with shipping needs, and/or questions, and ensures daily shipments are picked-up by various couriers.
  • Responsible for obtaining and supplying parts required by FCBS EO and FCBS EA.
  • Initializes the parts borrowing process and arranges borrowed parts shipping.


Job Requirements:


  • Previous airline / aviation experience.
  • College degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Previous purchasing and/or inventory planning experience preferred.
  • Experience with TRAX preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
