Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for a Contracts Manager. The purpose of this position is to assist the Director by facilitating day-to-day management of the Department in accordance with Company Procedures. The incumbent will assist in the supervision of Department Staff to ensure all aspects of the business cycle relating to proposals, contracts, administration, invoicing and warranty claims amongst other issues are efficiently handled in compliance with corresponding work instructions / procedures. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for all administrative functions of the Department.
Compensation: $110,000 - $115,000

Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor and assist Contracts staff in the performance of their duties.
- Organize the Contract staff to receive, review, and respond to customer enquiries. Specialized aspects of this include familiarity with frequently changing Canadian and U.S. Government regulations.
- Coordinate, review and approve formal proposals / pricing with engineering, estimating, program management, spaneting and the leadership team. Subsequent to proposal submission and contract awarded, ensure effective contract administration and monitoring.
- Negotiation (actual + assistance) of Contracts (terms and conditions, price, delivery, etc...) both for Domestic and Export customers (potentially on-site).
- Coordination and negotiation of financial papers associated with contracts (i.e. Letters of Credit, Performance Bonds, Bankers Guarantee)
- Other duties that may carry commercial responsibilities such as committees, infrastructure, etc
- Contribute to the overall Divisional profitability by ensuring that proposals meet financial requirements and the agreed T+Cs adequately protect the company in all eventualities.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree or Business Vocational School Diploma.
- 5 – 8 years of business / management experience. Contract Administration experience an asset. Understanding of Commercial Law as it relates to terms and conditions.
