We are seeking a skilled technician responsible for executing tests, documenting data, and reporting findings to the team. You will build vehicle components using instructions of varying quality, troubleshoot and replace vehicle parts, and ensure test specifications are correct and executable with available resources.

Responsibilities

• Verify that test specifications are correct and can be executed with the available resources.
• Create test setups to match engineering specifications, interpret test procedures and diagrams, and perform instrumentation, data acquisition, test article diagnostics, and frontline root causing.
• Accurately report test incidents in layperson terms.
• Maintain the existing fleet of aircraft and ground equipment, as well as new systems for function-specific flight tests.
• Run tests to validate system improvements, new technology for performance and design validation, and new processes.
• Perform tests and demonstrations related to US FAA Type Certification.

• Troubleshooting and electromechanical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs and technical instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and proactivity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to organize data effectively.
• Experience with hand and power tools, including manual mills, bandsaws, and torque drivers.

• Experience in commercial aviation or aviation maintenance (A&P certification is nice to have).
• Prior flight test or hobbyist flight experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems.
• Soldering skills are an advantage.
• Familiarity with 80/20 builds.
• Ability to lift objects up to 25kg regularly.

Work Environment

Work primarily outdoors at an open-air hangar located in the foothills of Northern California, spending about 85 of the day on-site. The environment is dynamic and autonomous, requiring flexibility to work various schedules, including days, swings, nights, and weekends. Proficiency with hand tools and equipment such as O-scopes and proprietary software is essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
