We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Technician IV to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the precision assembly and modification of major structural assemblies for aerospace vehicles. Your expertise will be critical in translating complex blueprints into high-quality fabrications, ensuring all work meets stringent quality and safety standards.
Multiple seats available in both Colorado Springs, CO. and Hagerstown, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations including filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
- Read, understand, and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
- Complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining precise edge distance and pitch tolerances.
- Align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures.
- Measure parts with micrometers, calipers, and other calibrated tools to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Modify incomplete and complete assemblies, incorporating engineering changes directly into the structure.
- Update job status in the operations database and maintain accurate documentation.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Ensure effective communication and representation between team members, team leads, quality control, and engineering.
- Perform various maintenance duties and adhere to all safety protocols.
Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
- Frequently walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs.
- Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motions; must have strong finger and hand dexterity.
- Frequently requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to differentiate between colors.
- Frequently requires the ability to discern different tones and volumes.
- Frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
- Frequently exposed to loud noises.
