PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation manufacturer in Wichita, Kansas to hire an experienced Mobile Response Mechanic. This hands-on role is critical to aircraft readiness—supporting final assembly, system troubleshooting, functional testing, and return-to-flight activities. The Role & Its ImpactAs a Mobile Response Mechanic, you are a key technical problem-solver supporting aircraft systems across multiple stages of production and testing. Your work ensures aircraft mechanical systems perform flawlessly under both ground and flight-simulated conditions, directly contributing to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
What You’ll Do Day to DayIn this role, you will:
Service and troubleshoot aircraft mechanical systems, including hydraulic, environmental control (ECS), anti-ice, emergency pneumatic, oxygen, and flight control systems
Perform functional tests simulating ground and flight conditions on aircraft systems
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic-mechanical systems to the component level
Modify aircraft systems and airframe in accordance with engineering specifications
Inspect, identify, and repair aircraft components in close-out areas
Assemble and install aircraft components such as fitted parts, sheet metal assemblies, component racks, batteries, and crew/slave equipment
Analyze hydraulic fluid for contamination on applicable aircraft models and ground support equipment
Weigh aircraft to determine empty aircraft weight
Complete aircraft paperwork and prepare aircraft for return to flight
Assist with jacking, moving aircraft, and positioning equipment between stations
Operate ground support equipment to simulate flight and ground conditions
Support functional testing and troubleshooting efforts across teams as issues arise
Assist and mentor other employees within areas of qualification
Required QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft final assembly and system installation
At least 1 year of experience working on specific aircraft models
Thorough knowledge of mechanical aircraft systems
Ability to troubleshoot, modify, and repair aircraft systems and airframe
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and system schematics
Working knowledge of safety and operating procedures for power-on aircraft
Ability to operate ground support equipment
Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including CFC certification
Ability to recognize electrical hazards and follow safe work practices
Preferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of electrical aircraft systems
Experience adjusting electrical switches per applicable systems
Experience performing functional testing on complex aircraft systems
Product verification or certification experience

Pay Details: $27.00 to $40.00 per hour
