Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a highly motivated Materials/Mechanical Engineering professional to join our team for an exciting career development opportunity within the MK21A Acquisition Program. The MK21A program will replace the Air Force MK12A and modernize the re-entry body and nuclear components. Team members will assist the Government with defining requirements, translating requirements into design criteria, evaluating alternative design approaches, and developing system specifications.
In addition, the BAE Systems Materials/Mechanical Engineer will:
Assist the government and industry partners with composite material engineering on reentry vehicle aeroshell development and manufacturing techniques.
Liaison with the Navy, DoE and other industry partners on a regular basis
Produce and/or review complex technical documents, specifications and standards.
Develops, reviews and manages complex system level requirements.
Researches and develops complex system designs and architectures.
Provides analysis for complex system designs and architectures and recommends design modifications.
Verifies and validates complex system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
Provide technical guidance for major acquisition and procurement milestones, phases and decision points.
