Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job DescriptionSupport the flight operations team by maintaining and troubleshooting the body parts and mechanisms of drones. Build vehicle components using various instructions, troubleshoot and replace vehicle parts, and ensure all documentation is updated. Verify test specifications and execute them with available resources.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the existing fleet of aircraft and ground equipment, along with new systems for function-specific flight tests.
- Run tests to validate system improvements, new technology for performance and design validation, and new processes.
- Perform tests and demonstrations related to US FAA Type Certification.
- Verify test specifications and ensure they can be executed with the available resources.
- Create test setups to match engineering specifications, including interpretation of test procedures and diagrams, instrumentation, data acquisition, and test article diagnostics.
- Accurately report test incidents in layperson terms.
Essential Skills- Troubleshooting skills with electromechanical systems.
- Experience with testing circuits and creating test builds.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, including manual mills, bandsaws, screwdrivers, wrenches, torque drivers, drills, and calipers.
- Soldering skills.
- Ability to read SOPs and technical instructions.
- Problem-solving skills, good judgment, and proactivity.
- Strong communication skills for reporting data to the engineering team.
- Attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in commercial aviation or aviation maintenance.
- Prior flight test or hobbyist experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems.
- Ability to lift up to 25kg.
- Familiarity with 80/20 builds, electronics, mechanical repair, avionics systems, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable asking questions.
- Ability to organize data in an understandable manner.

Work Environment
Work outdoors at an open-air hangar in the rugged foothills of Northern California, spending about 85 of your time in this dynamic environment. Embrace a setting that requires autonomy and the ability to identify tasks with minimal oversight. Flexibility is essential as you may work various schedules, including day, swing, nights, weekends, and rotational shifts.

This is a Contract position based out of Esparto, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
