Role Summary
* In this role, you will perform electrical modification, installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities on aircraft electrical wiring and systems in support of testing, development, and modification efforts. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* A high school diploma or equivalent.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience with electrical and electronic theories and avionics systems, shop mathematics, and practices.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience performing component and wire installation, including repairing, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting new, experimental, and disturbed systems.
* Experience in fabricating new wire bundles.
* Experience in routing and installing wire bundles on airplanes without existing wiring.
* The ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
* The ability to obtain customer approval for access.
* The ability to successfully complete required training.
* The ability to maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits for assigned work.
* Regular and predictable attendance.
* Read, write, and comprehend the English language.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen. Preferred Skills
* You will have
* Experience with avionics.
* Experience with depot-level or modification maintenance.
* Experience operating a forklift, mobile crane, or riding-type electric-powered elevating equipment.
* Federal Aviation Administration certification in Airframe or Powerplant. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able
* Perform connector terminations, including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring.
* Route and handle wire harnesses in accordance with routing instructions.
* Perform sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements.
* Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of electrical wiring.
* Perform assembly, installation, visual inspection, modification, operational checks, and quality checks of aircraft electrical assemblies.
* Troubleshoot organizational and depot-level malfunctions in aircraft electrical and communication, or navigation systems.
* Interpret work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, and orders.
* Use equipment in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
* Coordinate, prepare, and move materials and tools.
* Operate riding-type electric-powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignments.
* Perform duties of lower electrical classifications as required. Physical Requirements
* Able to
* Ascend and descend vertical work ladders.
* Work in confined spaces.
* Lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
* Work on elevated platforms.
* Use personal protective equipment for the face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms.
* Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
* Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.
* Obtain and maintain training certifications required for assignment responsibilities.
* Perform finger manipulation for 1 to 3 hours.
* Perform two-person lifts for weights greater than 50 pounds as required.
* Reach overhead for extended periods of time.
* Walk frequently on flat surfaces.
* Stand frequently on flat or uneven surfaces.
* Balance frequently on ladders, steps, or uneven surfaces.
* Climb ladders or stand up to 12 feet.
* Rotate head and neck, sit, crawl, squat, bend, stoop, lie down, and operate foot controls for extended periods of time.
* Work with occasional contact with metals.
* Work with frequent exposure to noise.
