Come be a part of it!Role SummaryIn this role, you will lead test and evaluation engineering activities by developing standardized test methods, procedures, and calibration systems to ensure repeatability, data integrity, and productivity. You will guide instrumentation engineering projects, oversee test execution and data delivery, mentor engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to support program objectives while working under minimal direction in a highly technical environment.
Education & Job Requirements
* You must have:
* A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or an equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited course of study.
* A minimum of 20 years of engineering design experience.
* U.S. person status for purposes of export compliance.
* Proficiency with project management principles and execution.
* Experience with integrated test vehicle design.
* Experience with airplane systems instrumentation and wind tunnel instrumentation.
* Proficiency with common drafting tools, including MS Visio, Zuken, CATIA, and AutoCAD.
* Proficiency with instrumentation sensors, data, and control acquisition systems.
* Proficiency with hydraulic systems.
* Proficiency with airplane electrical systems.
* Systems engineering experience.
* Proficiency with LabVIEW and NI hardware.
* The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and walk between buildings across campus as required. Preferred Skills
* You will have:
* A master’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent discipline.
* Understanding of electromagnetic interference principles.
* Experience with PLC and closed-loop control systems. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able to:
* Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity.
* Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of test procedures.
* Design calibration systems, test fixtures, and supporting software and algorithms.
* Generate calibration procedures and data processing tools to meet customer requirements.
* Guide teams in the design of test hardware, software, and systems to achieve test objectives.
* Lead execution of instrumentation engineering projects and best practices.
* Document all engineering solutions and technical designs.
* Lead and present technical design reviews.
* Provide oversight of test program deliverables to internal and external customers.
* Oversee test team debriefs and approve test data prior to customer delivery.
* Analyze, process, format, and validate test data based on historical expectations and requirements.
* Develop baselines and manage changes to statements of work, requirements, cost, schedule, risk, issues, opportunities, and supply chain.
* Lead development and approval of estimates and proposals.
* Manage communication of plans and performance across stakeholder teams.
* Facilitate execution teams to drive performance to plan.
* Train, mentor, and guide engineers while working proactively under minimal supervision.
