Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a Senior Equipment & Tool Engineer to join the Space Launch Systems team located in Kennedy Space Center, FL. The ideal candidate will have an equipment and tool engineering background.
Position Responsibilities:
Consults with programs and applies research knowledge to deliver highly complex equipment and tooling solutions that enable programs to meet Production System requirements.
Assesses and influences product engineering design to optimize production system efficiency for aerospace products.
Oversees the creation and modification of equipment and tooling definition at the enterprise level.
Oversees the development of methodologies for equipment and tooling definition and highly complex analysis at the enterprise level.
Develops requirements for safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors.
Consults with management regarding gated reviews and assesses production readiness.
Evaluates robotics, automation or technology insertion opportunities and provides solutions for emergent technical issues of significance across the global production system.
Recognized as the industry expert in equipment and tooling principles, theories, technologies and concepts.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
10 or more years of experience with integrating complex systems and tooling
10 or more years of experience with production asset design
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
10 or more years of experience in ground support equipment and/or tooling engineering
10 or more years of experience operating computing equipment to access job information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems)
Experience using a CAD System (Creo, CATIA, etc.)
