Role Summary
* In this role, you will support composite materials fabrication by applying materials and processes engineering principles to the development, qualification, and production support of advanced aerospace composite structures while working onsite in a manufacturing environment. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
* A minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in a related discipline.
* Experience providing materials and process support to composite part fabrication.
* Experience performing root-cause investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions for material and process issues.
* Experience creating and executing test plans and authoring technical reports and specifications.
* Experience in qualifying and approving materials, equipment, and processes.
* Experience guiding material testing in a laboratory environment.
* The ability to coordinate with Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement teams.
* The ability to support domestic travel as required. Preferred Skills
* You will have
* A minimum of 2 years of experience working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques.
* Hands-on laboratory experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques.
* Experience working with epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.
* Experience with composite failure modes and failure analysis.
* Experience authoring technical specifications, reports, and test plans.
* Experience reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office tools.
* Experience creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings.
* The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment. Job Duties & Functions

* Apply chemistry, physics, and materials science principles to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods.
* Provide technical evaluation and materials and process support for composite fabrication activities.
* Perform investigations into material and process issues and implement corrective actions.
* Create and execute test plans and document results in formal reports.
* Qualify and approve composite materials, tools, equipment, and processes.
* Support laboratory testing activities related to materials and processes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
* Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines.
* Manage test and audit programs while ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance.
* Incorporate environmental, health, safety, LEAN, and quality principles into daily work.
