As a licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I - Defect Control in Line Maintenance Production Control, You will ensure enhancement of overall Aircraft performance and ensure continued Airworthiness by providing in depth Technical recommendations on emerging Aircraft Fleet issues. Ensure essential Technical and Operational support is provided, contributing to managing deferred defects to an acceptable target and maximizing fleet reliability.

Operational Accountabilities;

• Ensures Deferred defects are timely updated and effective defect rectification achieved by coordinating and following up with planning, Supply chain, Production teams – Line Maintenance, Light Maintenance and Heavy Maintenance.
• Management of the fleet Deferred defects and to ensure all are updated to expected quality level before due date.
• Plan assigned activities in an effective and efficient manner, operate equipment or use tooling relative to assigned tasks within framework of Qatar Airways procedures.
• Reviews work procedures, standards and proposes improvements where procedures are not appropriate to ensure work processes are effective.
• Responsible for the final release of work accomplished by the Mechanics. Ensure tasks are performed to meet company/Customer standard and target such as dispatch reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects.
• Ensure delivery standard of QR/customer products are met. Aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures. Provide satisfactory support to internal and external customers.
• Implement solutions to technical problems within his range of his authority, and ensure that aircrafts or components serviceability standards are maintained to meet schedule requirements.
• Provide guidance and or on the job training to the Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics reporting to this position.
• When supervising the wok of others, ensuring that acceptable standard of workmanship and quality are maintained and the correct tools are employed to accomplish the task.
• Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
• QCAA B1 or B2 License.
• Minimum 1 Aircraft Type Authorization on QR Fleet.
• As per company requirement, must arrange to have equipment, heavy vehicle driving license to facilitate maintenance task requirements.
• Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Using mathematics to solve problems.
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
