Overview:
Quality AWW LG 84 Layout Inspector 1
Position Reports to: Todd Bray, This is a 2nd shift. 3:30pm-1:30am Monday-Thursday ( 4 x 10) .
What You Will Do
• Perform manual layout inspection of aerospace engine product specifically though the use of Rotary Heads, surface plates, optical comparators, comparator charts, gage blocks and other measuring devices identified as necessary.
• Plan and perform work required to inspect complicated tools, gages, jigs and fixtures where application of standard trades techniques may not be suitable.
• Conduct in-depth inspections on complicated aerospace engine components.
• Work applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, Engine Manuals and other pertinent instruction and/or Approved Technical Data to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools and gages and other equipment,
accepting material or referring for rework or qual ity review based on findings.
• Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments where work instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results.
• Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
• Follow proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
• Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of measuring equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
• Support and promote CORE activities to meet business objectives.
• Must maintain Inspection stamp.
• Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
• Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime.
• May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.
• Must be capable of adapting to changing computerized layout technology.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Qualifications You Must Have
• High School or GED
• 1 years formal training (or equivalent), including machining methods and practices, and understanding of gage design, assembly and checking techniques, and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Strong math skills in geometry and trigonometry.
•
Qualifications We Prefer
• The ability to compute complex requirements utilizing shop math, geometry, and/or trigonometry.
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) familiarization.
• Flexibility around shifts to maintain workflow, to include overtime.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with C PCDMS or Calypso.
• 1 yr of quality inspection experience preferred.

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
