Position Summary
Responsible to lead and manage the chemical process engineering function with significant process development investments, multiple engineering programs and teams, and long‐range business impact. Ensures that Division and business unit engineering objectives, contractual requirements, and customer expectations are met, including required program scope, cost and schedule constraints.

Direct report to the Global Division Engineering Manager. Has direct reporting engineers and may have expert-level engineers on staff. Will include responsibility for supporting global process engineering functions at various regional sites.
Has regular and frequent internal interaction with multiple business areas, program management, product development, regional plant process engineering Team Members, and Division and Group leadership.
Responsibilities
Align engineering objectives and project plans with overall business unit or Division strategy. Develop plans for multiple project teams and determine resource allocation by reviewing technical proposals, internal and subcontract capabilities, and conferring with the Engineering team and Leadership. Work as part of the broader technical team to ensure deployment of resources to the various projects and programs based on priorities of the business.
Provide input on prioritization on new product development and research activities and the introduction of new technology; lead the team and expert staff in interpreting complex technical requirements, associated risk, and completing technical studies and design reviews. Lead new product manufacturing capability studies and plant commercialization.
Provide leadership to ensure the successful completion of critical stages of multiple projects/programs in coordination with division leadership and program management. Involved in high-level strategy decisions and implementation plans.
Is instrumental in attracting and obtaining new business by promoting Parker technical capabilities.
Partners with customers, suppliers, etc, to identify opportunities for process innovation. Significantly contribute to technology roadmap and division growth strategy.
Provide Leadership and support with new product manufacturing implementation and process improvements to ensure required reviews (pre-startup, PHA’s, operational readiness) and closes the agreed actions. Support Process Safety Management compliance across manufacturing operations.
Maintain frequent formal and informal program management reviews to present status and/or refine project plans. Assess and make technical determinations on changes in customer requirements. Support maintaining a strong product development pipeline and lead the production launch process.
Broad budget and accountability for technical and engineering systems investments. Accountable for full budget planning and cost management with significant impact on division engineering costs. Consults with division leadership on long-range plans to meet both current and anticipated growth and resource challenges (e.g. workforce planning; new technology system investments).
Provide leadership for manufacturing transfer projects between various regional chemical plants.
Assess and determine effective workforce plans to meet business and engineering demand.
Identify and create technical training and development plans for the global technical and operational team.
Ensure proper steps are taken to protect and safeguard Parker intellectual property.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree (BS) (or Professional Engineer (PE) Certificate) in chemical engineering; Masters degree (MS or MBA) strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 12-15 or more years of related experience with at least 6-8 years in petrochemical, or specialty chemical processing industries, or similar. Prior management-level team leadership of 6 years.
Comprehensive understanding of varied products, systems, and technologies represented by the Division or Group. Proven track record of introducing new-to- spanet technology and/or product commercialization on a global scale. Ability to apply and integrate knowledge of other related engineering areas or experts.
Ability to recognize, quantify, and effectively communicate the business impact of innovative solutions and value creation (e.g. potential profit, risks, and business impact of engineering investments and programs).
Demonstrated ability to lead the research and integration of new chemical processing technologies.
Ability to influence organizational and business strategies priorities, and functional objectives across multiple leadership levels. Effectively delegate and empower co-workers and team members.
Pursues and advocates innovation and involvement from the larger technical community.
Mitigate risks associated with the loss of intellectual property by communicating and implementing appropriate controls with regard to safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
Create and monitor development plans and assignments to build leadership and engineering technical pipeline.
Thorough knowledge of competitor and industry practices, government regulations, and internal policies.
Recognized as an influential business partner. Has strong facilitation skills and ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences to gain support or resolve issues. Makes effective presentations on complex or sensitive topics to top management, customers, and/or other key stakeholders.
Effective speaker and presenter; serves as a spokesperson or in a liaison role with universities and other research institutions and industry associations. Ability to respond to significant inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or other internal teams.
