Summary:
Provide leadership, technical expertise, and guidance in performing operational and functional tests, repairs, and troubleshooting of aircraft avionics/electrical systems.
Ensure defect-free aircraft delivery while supporting safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
Serve as a technical expert in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
Train and mentor team members in installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
Ensure high-quality, efficient installations; guide troubleshooting processes to ensure timely, accurate repairs.
Demonstrate advanced repair techniques, including proper splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
Oversee engineering changes and system modifications.
Set up and operate test equipment; perform functional and operational tests to validate performance.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all completed work.
Conduct pre-inspections of completed work to reduce rework and inspection delays.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and test electronic systems and equipment.
Enforce FOD prevention, tool control, 5S standards, and safety regulations.
Adapt to schedule changes and coordinate with other departments as needed.
Provide self-inspection capability for avionics testing.
Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight tests.
May train others on systems outside avionics, including hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental, or structural systems.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Six (6) years of experience in an avionics/electrical field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus four (4) years of related experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
Strong cross-functional knowledge of aircraft systems beyond avionics is highly desirable.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills:
A&P license preferred.
FCC license preferred.
NCATT certification preferred.
APU and engine run qualifications.
