Provide internal and external customers with assistance and guidance on the acceptability of special cargo for carriage on Company aircraft. Special cargo is defined as cargo that requires special handling and securing/restraining procedures with the limitations specified in the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) or Weight and Balance manual (WBM) approved by the Type Certificate (TC) or Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).. This position is responsible for developing and producing load planning instructions and tie-down requirements, as applicable. Travels to off-line stations and performs and/or supervises contract personnel’s performance of duties relating to the loading/unloading of aircraft and cargo handling. Ensures that aircraft and cargo handling meet all company and governmental policies and regulations and that customers receive quality service. Performs aircraft load planning and weight and balance functions. Ensures that all load manifest documentation meets all company and governmental policies and regulations and that customers receive a timely and quality service.

• Provides internal and external customers with assistance and guidance on the acceptability of special cargo (i.e. oversized/outsized/unusual) for carriage on Company aircraft.
• Advises of any required cargo buildup, shoring, loading and/or special equipment required to facilitate the transport.
• Communicates with affected locations to ensure efficient movement.
• Monitoring of special cargo loads as these transit through the system.
• Coordinates ULDs, pallets, straps, shoring material, equipment, etc. with ULD Ops to assure special cargo requirements are met in a timely manner.
• Monitoring of special loads as they transit through the system.
• Monitors and/or performs aircraft loading/unloading, aircraft movement, employee and contractor safety, HAZMAT placement and reporting and pallet build-up. Identifies and rectifies problems.
• Analyzes necessary information to determine load plans.
• Complies information and calculates weight and balance.
• Reviews cargo documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness and corrects inaccurate and/or incomplete information. Communicates serious or recurring issues to management.
• Maintains current passport for travel to off-line stations.
• Adheres to and ensures that contractors adhere to company and governmental safety and other applicable regulations and procedures.
• Completes remote weight and balance.
• May perform the duties of a Loadmaster and/or station representative.
• Completes and/or maintains company reports, messages, files, logs and forms and ensures that necessary paperwork (e.g. Customs) is completed.
• Compiles all relevant information to calculate and perform aircraft weight and balance.
• Develops and distributes load plans and aircraft weight and balance, as appropriate
• 24 hours operations, ability to work night/weekend shifts
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school or relevant, equivalent work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Airline cargo and ground handling experience is required.
• Airline weight and balance is required.
• Airline IATA/ICAO Hazardous materials experience is preferred.

Skills:

• Understanding of aircraft positions and heights and aircraft weight limitations.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of operating equipment.
• Understands and adheres to company operating and safety policies, operations, processes and procedures appropriate to the job.
• Understands and uses airfreight and flight terminology and processes.

Salary Range: $52,500- $71,000

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
