United’s CDR team is tasked with keeping our customers’ and employees’ information safe and secure. Our primary mission is to embed cybersecurity into the DNA of United Airlines by reducing business risk through implementation of strong cybersecurity standards.
Job overview and responsibilities
The Insider Threat Analyst plays a supportive role in the implementation, operation, and enhancement of the Insider Threat Program, working closely with cross-functional teams. The primary focus of this role is to assist in establishing a robust governance structure and operational guidelines for the program, while also performing business-as-usual activities to address insider threat risks.
- Alert Triage and Investigation Support: Perform daily alert triage, provide investigative support, and contribute to threat-hunting activities to identify and mitigate insider threats
- Governance Support: Assist in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive governance structure and operational guidelines for the Insider Threat Program
- Threat Detection Improvement: Support efforts to enhance threat detection processes and methodologies, ensuring continuous improvement in identifying potential risks
- Process and Solution Implementation: Assist in implementing new processes or solutions to strengthen the Insider Threat Program’s capabilities
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, HR, Digital Technology, and Cybersecurity, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science
- 3+ years of related experience in a STEM-relevant field
- Understanding of insider threat concepts, risk indicators, and detection methodologies
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, investigative techniques, and threat-hunting practices
- Knowledge of governance structures and operational guidelines for insider threat programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support alert triage and threat-hunting activities
- Proficiency in using tools and technologies for insider threat detection and investigation
- Ability to assist in developing and improving governance structures and operational processes
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting findings clearly
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize daily operational responsibilities
- Capability to perform daily alert triage, provide investigative support, and contribute to threat-hunting efforts
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $87,780.00 to $119,680.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
